Mathieu Lavigne

Mathieu Lavigne leads the Analytics Team at the Media Ecosystem Observatory and is an Academic Associate at the Max Bell School of Public Policy at McGill University. He is a leading Canadian expert on misinformation, the information environment, and democratic resilience. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from McGill University and a M.Sc. in Political Science from the Université de Montréal. He has worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Program in Quantitative Social Science at Dartmouth College. He has taught Issues in Canadian Democracy at McGill and is an active member of the Chaire de recherche sur la démocratie, le vivre-ensemble et les valeurs communes au Québec. His work has been published in Public Opinion Quarterly, Party Politics, the Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review, the Canadian Journal of Political Science, the IPSA Companion to Political Science, and the Elgar Encyclopedia of Technology and Politics, among others.
