Digital Surveillance and Covid-19 tracing apps: a Canadian analysis

This panel highlighed the effects of increased surveillance and tracing apps as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hosted by the Canadian International Council (CIC Montreal), the MIGS centre at Concordia University and College Royal Militaire de Saint-Jean (CRMSJ), the event outlined a global overview of these measures and looked at how citizens have responded to the potential risks and benefits of tracing apps and other modes of surveillance, including privacy implications and changing democratic values.

The event featured panelists Simon Hogue, Professor at Collège Militaire Royal de Saint-Jean, and Sonja Solomun, Research Director at the Centre for Media, Technology and Democracy, McGill University.
